Expansion Project Controller, Contract duration 3 years

Norwegian Crystals has an immediate opening for a Project Controller – Expansion to oversee the financials and contract management of our large-scale projects. You will collaborate with the project manager to determine budget and deadlines, coordinate payment schedules for vendors and subcontractors, monitor each phase to ensure the project remains within financial guidelines, and process expense reimbursements. We also expect our Project Controller to generate detailed reports and present auditing documentation when necessary. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring projects align with corporate goals and objectives (KPIs). The Project Controller – Expansion will take direction from the Chief Project Officer and will align processes with the Enterprise Program and Portfolio Management Office.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Project Controller duties

  • Review project budget and deadlines with project manager
  • Coordinate payments to vendors and subcontractors
  • Process expense reimbursement
  • Monitor project to ensure it meets budget guidelines
  • Generate accounting reports at the end of the project
  • Oversee auditing of project financials when necessary
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure budget, forecast and reporting requirements have been met through all stages of the NCR Project Management methodology
  • Address project finance related questions as they arise
  • Consolidate weekly status reports send out to the Leadership Team as agreed
  • Gather and route Project Initiation Forms, Charters, and Requests through the approval cycle
  • Follow up with project completion reports
  • Challenge project managers. Be a clear and constructive supporter in assessments of specific challenges and risks, and ensure good progress in the processes
  • Perform quality checks of reporting and forms within the project
  • Establish and coordinate routine meetings with pertinent project managers / sponsors
  • Contract management in support of the project lifecycle
  • Contribute to good contract follow-up and change management.

Communication & Teamwork

  • Communicate regularly to project team to keep members informed of status, progress against the project plan, upcoming milestones/deliverables, etc.
  • Create weekly financial status reports for management review, and contribute to weekly status summary meetings
  • Collaborate with project team to ensure they meet project goals and objectives.Learning & Development

Job scope

Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance, or 4 years of relevant working experience

Experience

  • Previous experience as a project controller preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of project plans, budget and forecasting
  • Understanding and/or exposure to project schedules
  • Experience with formal approval cycles and reporting requirements
