Dønna and Herøy congregation share a 100 % church organist position. Dønna and Herøy are in the middle of Norway. About 3,200 people live in the municipalities of Dønna and Herøy.
The municipalities have a good and active offer within culture and sports. For families with small children, it is an eldorado with fresh air, beautiful nature and not least good day care coverage and a good school offer. House prices are low. Dønna and Herøy are situated in the middle of the scenic Ytre Helgeland, with the Helgelands Mountains Dønnamannen, The Seven Sisters and the Vegafjellet in the immediate vicinity. The proximity to the sea and the mountains provides wonderful recreational opportunities for the nature-seeking people.
Sandnessjøen is the regional center and nearest town. There is good communication between the municipalities and to Sandnessjøen by ferries and speed boats. In Sandnessjøen there is an airport, and Hurtigruten has daily calls here.
Dønnes church, located in the north end of Dønna, is a stone church from the first half of the 13th century. In 2007, the church was elected Northern Norway's most beautiful church. Here's a protected Brandzsæg pipe organ.
Approximately in the middle of Dønna is Nordvik church, a wooden church dating back to 1871. Here was a Johannus electric organ with three manuals and pedal inserted in April 2021.
Right in the south of Dønna is Hestad church, which was built in 1912 , here also stands a Johannus electric organ with pedal.
On the island of Løkta, you find Løkta church, where there is also an electric organ and on the island Vandve you find Vandve chapel, where the church musician brings a portable organ with him.
At Herøy you will find Herøy church, the "Helgeland Cathedral", which is located in the middle of the village, it is an 800-year-old stone church. . In this church there is a pipe organ from the Torkildsen brothers with 2 manuals and 15 voices and pedal from 1961. In Herøy there are also services on some of the islands in the municipality; Husvær, Sandvær + summer services in Gåsvær and Skibbåtsvær. In these places there is harmonium, but we often bring our own portable organ to these church sites.
The portable organ is a newly acquired Johannus One, which is fine for the church musician to carry with him.
The employer is Dønna Fellesråd. But the staff of Dønna and Herøy acts as a joint staff, and have offices at the town halls both on Dønna and Herøy.
• Follow the service system for organist / church musician, specified by the Norwegian church
• Attend at services and ecclesiastical activities in the church /and other cermon sites and in
• Responsibility for developing the song and music work in the church.
• Participate in other church work as; Confirmation teaching, etc.
